Ken Mapp - Monday 8-10am
Ken Mapp has one of the greatest depth of experience and knowledge of issues in the Virgin Islands. During his more than 30 years of service in the both the private and public sectors, Mapp has a unique perspective of what’s happening in the territory, by whom and why. Mapp knows the people of the Virgin Islands, their culture, traditions and mores, the private sector and the workings and finances of government.
Ken hails from the Hewitt clan at Estate Rattan on St. Croix. His professional path hailed from Police Officer trainee in the NYPD, school monitor, police officer and President of the Police Benevolent Association. He was elected senator in several elections, appointed Director, Licensing and Consumers Affairs and managed in the private sector. Mapp was Lieutenant Governor of the VI and subsequently appointed to manage the affairs of the Public Finance Authority.
While Ken is a product of public education, he earned a Master in Public Administration degree from Harvard at the John F. Kennedy School of Government and completed the prestigious Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Ken is a fun guy, hosting his show with a serious discussion of issues with an undercurrent of crucian and Caribbean culture and a good “dash” of calypsos, kaisos and stories from the past. On AM Monday, Ken Mapp learns, teaches and entertains. It’s your show, just call, because “yoh gon have fun”.
